Joomla For Designers | Blog
Hey guys,
I am SERIOUSLY busy in Faith Computing, Dirt Cheap Websites and some other stuff...
I apologise for not getting this whole site up and running before now, I wanted to make sure I had made a LOT of money through Faith Computing - which I have not yet done.
I believe with all my heart that in order to be successful in life you must have integrity, and due to my integrity I have not opened this site in the way I thought I would previously.
Whats the situation? Well it is simple, I had and HAVE a good idea here - yes, but I went about it the WRONG way! At the time when I Started J4D I was in my own office, making some money from Joomla Web Design, in fact I was boasting large invoices to my friends in the Joomla world, but business is not all about how much you invoice, it is much more then that!
My Success is meant to come from the people I have helped become successful, people like Jai Curtis of Curtis Constructions, who had an increase in sales volumes due to having a new site.
Yes, I have been successful in the past, but right now I am focused on something totally different now. I do still LOVE JOOMLA above all other web technologies, and I still DO want to make my tutorials.
The thing that is currently holding me back is that I have been on a BIG learning curb for the last couple years - learning about SEO, traffic Generation and the like, due to that learning curb I have not been making much in the way of money!
I have also been listening to people such as Zig Ziggler, Tony Robbins & Jim Rohn - for the sake of becoming a better businessman.
In saying that, I believe that I have become more of an asset to my future clients & have found that I enjoy my job more and more.
So, what is all this about anyways??
Simple - I will be opening this site up as a Social Networking place for Joomla people & Graphic Designers, I hope it is a blessing to MANY people!
Many Regards,

Well!
October... This month has been madness! In fact I feel overwhelmed with the amount of work I have to do!
So far, sadly, I have not moved too far forward with my project of Joomla For Designers. In saying that I DO have a few testers going throught he website in order to check out the teaching amoung other things.
All that is really left to do is update the teaching with the "How to Edit Templates" stuff & fix a few minor issues with the Community area. I have a large group of JV sites I am working on also. (Will tell when they are ready)
Guys - if you have any suggestions or comments please email me!
Many Thanks
Scott Nailon
Free Graphic Design Tools
Ok Guys, so this isnt by LAW FREE - it is OpenSource - whih to most simple people liek myself IS FREE. The difference is that you are not allowed to resell an opensource product and make money that way, although you are allowed to use it as a tool to make money or charge for services related. A Side Note on this one - I did a lot of research and found that there are a lot of OpenSource Software Guides - this one seems best so I have added this guys content onto the site with links back to him - I hope you enjoy it!

A sitemap is often considered redundant in the process of building a website, and that is indeed the fact if you made a sitemap for the sake of having one. By highlighting the importance of having a well constructed sitemap, you will be able to tailor your own sitemap to suit your own needs.
1. Navigation purposes
A sitemap literally acts as a map of your site. If your visitors browses your site and gets lost between the thousands of pages on your site, they can always refer to your sitemap to see where they are, and navigate through your pages with the utmost ease.
2. Conveying your site's theme
When your visitors load up your sitemap, they will get the gist of your site within a very short amount of time. There is no need to get the "big picture" of your site by reading through each page, and by doing that you will be saving your visitors' time.
3. Site optimisation purposes
When you create a sitemap, you are actually creating a single page which contains links to every single page on your site. Imagine what happens when search engine robots hit this page -- they will follow the links on the sitemap and naturally every single page of your site gets indexed by search engines! It is also for this purpose that a link to the sitemap has to be placed prominently on the front page of your website.
4. Organisation and relevance
A sitemap enables you to have a complete bird's eye view of your site structure, and whenever you need to add new content or new sections, you will be able to take the existing hierarchy into consideration just by glancing at the sitemap. As a result, you will have a perfectly organized site with everything sorted according to their relevance.
From the above reasons, it is most important to implement a sitemap for website projects with a considerable size. Through this way, you will be able to keep your website easily accessible and neatly organised for everyone.
